  • We would like to give you a very warm welcome to our church and community. We are a vibrant, loving, child-friendly, inclusive parish within the catholic Anglican tradition of the Church of England in Central Barnet. We have a multi-generational congregation which reflects the cultural diversity of London life. We offer a traditional, friendly and relaxed approach to worship. We are noted for being toddler-tolerant and children are central to our church.

    Our vision at St John’s is to develop a caring community with a vibrant all-age worshipping congregation that is compassionate to the needs of our community. We wish to be as creative as possible to show the people of Whetstone that God loves them and that we care for them.

    Praise and thanksgiving are at the heart of all we do and we encourage our neighbours and community to join us in our fellowship activities.

  • Remembrance

    This year, to commemorate the end of World War 1, St John’s Church will host an exhibition in the church based on the lives of the 62 men on our war memorial.

    The exhibition will be open from Saturday 3rd November till Saturday 17th November as follows:

    Saturdays (3rd, 10th & 17th): from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm

    Sundays (4th & 11th): from 12:00 noon till 4:00 pm

    Weekdays (5th till 9th & 12th till 16th): from 12:00 noon till 2:00 pm

    We do need volunteers who can help make this a success. If you would like to get involved please let Alison Jackson know.

    Pastoral Group

    There will be a meeting of the Pastoral Group immediately after the 10:30 service on Sunday 28th October 2018.

    Evening Prayer every Wednesday at 5:15 pm

    Bible Study every Wednesday 11:45 - 13:15 & 19:30 - 21:00

    Chat Club every Thursday 12:45 - 14:00

    In the church. This is open to all so please encourage your friends, relatives and neighbours to bring their lunch & come along for chat and a cuppa.

    Community Coffee Morning every Friday in term time 9:00 - 11:00

    This event is open during school term time to all so please encourage your friends, relatives and neighbours to come along for chat over a cuppa. There are toys and activities available for children.

    3 o’Clock Club meets at 3 o’clock in the church on the third Sunday of each month during term time.

    Come and join us for craft activities, bible stories and singing!
