  • We would like to give you a very warm welcome to our church and community. We are a vibrant, loving, child-friendly, inclusive parish within the catholic Anglican tradition of the Church of England in Central Barnet. We have a multi-generational congregation which reflects the cultural diversity of London life. We offer a traditional, friendly and relaxed approach to worship. We are noted for being toddler-tolerant and children are central to our church.

    Our vision at St John’s is to develop a caring community with a vibrant all-age worshipping congregation that is compassionate to the needs of our community. We wish to be as creative as possible to show the people of Whetstone that God loves them and that we care for them.

    Praise and thanksgiving are at the heart of all we do and we encourage our neighbours and community to join us in our fellowship activities.

  • IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

    Revd Lynn announced today that, after over two years of hard work and negotiations, our planning application for our new hall has been submitted to Barnet Council for approval.

    To view the application online please go to https://publicaccess.barnet.gov.uk/online-applications/ and enter the application number 19/4491/FUL to access full details. For any comments to be considered by Barnet Council they must be received by 17th September 2019 either online or written. Your name, address, daytime telephone number and, where available, e-mail address should be included in all correspondence quoting Reference 19/4491/FUL. The address for correspondence is as follows: Planning and Building Control, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

    A display of the main part of the plans will be available to view in the church from Wednesday.

    As a member of St John’s congregation or a friend, you are encouraged to write/email in support of this application emphasising the benefits that will be obtained from this project both for the congregation and the local community at large.

    This is open to all so please encourage your friends, relatives and neighbours to bring their lunch & come along for chat and a cuppa.

    Community Coffee Morning every Friday in term time 9:00 - 11:00  Community Coffee Morning will resume on Friday 6th September

    This event is open during school term time to all so please encourage your friends, relatives and neighbours to come along for chat over a cuppa. There are toys and activities available for children.

    3 o’Clock Club meets at 3 o’clock in the church on the third Sunday of each month during term time.

    Come and join us for craft activities, bible stories and singing!
